Maximilian Busser and its watches: questions/answers

Portrait of Maximilian Busser by the Repairers

Why associate clock industry and passion? Which is the share of creativity in this world too often governed by the lure of gain? Do there exist marks which dare to be different compared to others in terms from products, but not only?

As many questions as we are posed and who have convincing answers only when they leave the mouth of adventurers such as Maximilian.

We thus wanted to meet, with the variation of the excitation of the SIHH 2010, that which, with his/her friends, proposes a very distinct alternative of the traditional clock industry.

Which are your sources of inspiration for the design of your watches?

They are multiple and not inevitably lucid Often I draw a part and it is only when the prototype of the Machine leaves that I realize what guided my feature. In general, they are the memories of childhood - It appears that our adult creativity is particularly influenced by our life before 12 years. Having been an only son and solitary, my very rich imaginary life took me along in the territory of the supermen and science fiction - I was Capitaine Kirk, Albator or Goldorak! One finds much of this life in Horological Machines

Which is the duration (in hours) of research and production for the creation of a new model?

Once the first succeeded drawing, to count one year and half at two years before seeing the first part series to leave. In number hours to count approximately 1 ' 500

Do you have in preparation a new watch, so yes has it a new design quite different from the others?

2010 will be one year very rich in creativity for MB&F: not far from 4 launchings will follow one another throughout the year! January with considering the presentation of the HM2-SV. May will see the launching of a HM3 enough destroy, then HM4 revealed in July and to crown one year of madness: a joint venture creative in October And in spite of this vice of creativity, we envisaged to lower our production of 15% to ensure that all pre-is sold.

For is one to you inevitably collector when one is impassioned?

Not inevitably. It is true that when one likes the clock industry, one wants to offer as many parts which make us vibrate, possible. But when I was 21 years old, I was impassioned of clock industry and I had put all my economies in a beautiful piece - That was enough for me, I were already so happy to have it.

Are you even collector?

Not really, but because I am likely to create the parts which I like. For me creation is much more stimulative than the possession

What do you think of the communication in the universe of the clock industry?

With the image of the leaders of the marks. Much too centered on What? what Why? The majority of the marks will want to speak to us about the product, and forgets to explain us why they create it (which is their engine) - this says most of the time, it why is to give more money to the shareholders - what is obviously not avowable

You think that the new media (Community sites, blog) have their place in this medium, which remains traditional?

Obviously! But the Community sites and blogs are not easily deceived with respect to the traditional communication. They do not want any. Good media Internet want truth, transparency, lived, and not of this fast-food marketing which one is used for the traditional mediums. I am not sure that the traditional marks included/understood it to date
